Plumbing violations

Plumbing work has been cited. Illinois requires a licensed plumber for this, so it is one of exactly three trades we bring a partner in for rather than self-perform.

The short answers
Do I need a permit?
This normally needs a permit before work starts. We file it.
Who actually does it?
Our licensed partner, run on our permit and our schedule, billed on our contract.
Am I unusual?
Not at all. This is one of the items we are called out for most, and it is rarely the only thing on the notice.

What the inspector was looking at

Waste or supply piping leaking or improper. Fixtures missing or defective. No hot water. Plumbing alterations done without a permit.

What happens if you leave it

Plumbing citations frequently arrive with tenant complaints behind them, and those complaints do not stop until the water does what it is supposed to.

How we get it closed

  1. 1Our licensed plumbing partner scopes the cited work with us, on site, at the same visit
  2. 2It gets filed and permitted alongside everything else on your notice
  3. 3The work is completed and inspected
  4. 4We run the schedule and the paperwork, so you still deal with one company

Before you start worrying about the cost

You do not have to go find a plumber, chase their quote, or referee between trades. That coordination is ours.

This is almost never the only item

Chicago inspectors write up everything they can see in one visit. Fixing this and leaving the rest means the case stays open and you go to the hearing anyway. We price and clear the whole notice: our own crews on nearly all of it, licensed partners on the plumbing, heating and electrical items, and nothing left dangling for you to chase.

Usually on the same notice

If you see any of these on yours too, that is the normal pattern rather than bad luck. They tend to share a cause.
